Gyrodyne closed on its purchase of Fairfax Medical Center, a 57,621-square-foot medical office property located at 10721 Main Street in Fairfax City, Virginia early in 2009. Fairfax Medical Center is home to 28 medical tenants. The property includes two four-story brick-clad buildings with 10,000 sq. ft. floor plates suitable for larger medical practices. It is located directly across the street from a surgical center owned by Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), next door to a major nursing home facility, and is equidistant from Inova Health System’s Fairfax and Fair Oaks hospitals.
In May 2009, the City of Fairfax was rated as #3 in the "Top 25 Places to Live Well" by Forbes Magazine.
